iMac 24" M1 - A new era for iMac

Apple introduced the all new 24-inch iMac, with the desktop-level M1 chip, at the Apple Spring Event on April 20.With the M1 chip and macOS BigSur, the iMac is more powerful and more capable. The iMac starts at $1299 with 4 colors, 256gb of storage and 8gb of internal memory.

The new iMac is incredible from every angle, bursting with color and brightens every space they are kept. When viewed from the side, the iMac almost disappear, which is made possible by the monitor’s breathtaking thinness of just 11.5 mm. The outer design is a remarkable change from the previous model. According to Apple, the new iMac is designed to celebrate color. The back of the iMac is colored with bold richly saturated shades consisting of seven vibrant colors - Green, Yellow, Orange, Pink, Purple, Blue and Silver. The front of the iMac is bordered with Light Gray and the bezels feature softer shades, depending on the color of the iMac. This transition from the bulky, dull, Office-oriented iMac to a sleek, thin, vibrant and Home-oriented iMac is truly remarkable. This is the next generation of iMac.

Inner Hardware

This ultimate redesign of the iMac was possible due to the Apple Silicon M1 chip. In the previous models of the iMac, the thermal and logic boards were massive under the requirements of the power-hungry processor. Also, the CPU, GPU and other components were placed distinctly and separately. This along with the huge thermal system resulted in the large mount on the back of previous iMacs. Now, with the M1 chip’s SoC architecture, all of these components are placed together on a much smaller logic board. Also, as M1 is power efficient, the sizeable thermal system is replaced by two small fans, keeping the system cool and astonishingly quiet. The result is an 11.5 mm thin design, which is more mobile and compact, and also a steep 50% reduce in overall volume, allowing it to fit easily into spaces with smaller footprint.

Display

Ports and Connectivity

The iMac has modern connectivity for all it’s data and gadgets. It features up to four USB-C ports, including two Thunderbolt ports for lightning-fast data transfers. It can also connect to an external monitor with a resolution of up to 6k. It comes with a magnetically attached power connector for simple and fast installation. A 2m color-matched woven cord connects the power connector to a small power adapter. The ethernet attaches to the adapter and flows via the power line, making the workspace less cramped.

Keyboard and Accessories

The iMac comes with three keyboard choices, each with a beautiful aluminum enclosure that matches the iMac's color theme. One comes with a magic keyboard that includes a new emoji, spotlight, dictation, and do not interrupt keys, as well as a lock key. Environmental Impact

The iMac was created with a low environmental impact in mind. Much of the pure wood fibre used in the packaging comes from woods that are safely treated. The rare earth elements used in the magnets in the microphones, fan motor, and power connector are all recycled. It is made with 100% recycled Aluminum. Moreover, Apple is Carbon Neutral and it plans on making all of it’s products Carbon Neutral by 2030.

It also has two Thunderbolt / USB 4 ports. It comes in 4 colors. Another model with 8-core CPU and GPU has the same as the previous model and costs $1499.It has two Thunderbolt / USB 4 ports, two USB 3 ports and Gigabit Ethernet. This model comes in 7 colors and the Magic keyboard with Touch ID is available. The $1499 is the preferred model = for everyday users, but please do not buy the base model as you cannot get the complete use. You can upgrade the configuration upto 2Tb of storage and 16gb of internal memory.
